First permit shall be applied in the country where the Japanese or non-Japanese person resides legally before entering Finland. The application is filed with a Finnish mission or honorary consulate.
Processing fee: € 225 (25,000 yen in Jun 2010)
Residence/Work permit:: € 250 (27,800 yen in Jun 2010)
For students: € 125 ( 13,900 yen in Jun 2010)
For children (under 18 yrs old): € 80 (8,900 yen in Jun 2010)
Processing fee is paid in cash and in Japanese yen upon applying the permit.
Result of the application will be informed by email or by telephone from the Consular section. Please refrain from calling or sending inquiry concerning the progress of the application.
