Inka-Liisa Häkälä is the new Junior Advisor at the Embassy of Finland's Trade Section. Her tasks revolve around supporting Finnish companies’ internationalization to Japan and Japanese companies’ investments to Finland. Häkälä’s main fields of responsibility will be bio economy and the strategic partnership program between Japan and Finland for digitalization and open innovation. She has worked with the Trade Section previously as an intern in 2015.
Häkälä has a Master of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Oulu, and is currently enrolled in the MBA program at Hokkaido University. She speaks fluent Japanese and is hired as local staff. On her free time, Häkälä enjoys experiencing Japanese cuisine, trips to Japan’s natural hot springs and reading.
