Minister of the Environment Kouichi Yamamoto met with Mr. Kimmo Tiilikainen, Minister of Agriculture and the Environment of Finland on March 8 in Tokyo. The Ministers discussed future possibilities of cooperation between Japan and Finland.
Minister Yamamoto presented to his counterpart on-going Japanese research activities in collaboration with Finland on greenhouse gases, which utilize data obtained from the Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite(GOSAT). Both Minister Yamamoto and Minister Tiilikainen agreed to facilitate research cooperation in the area of climate change such as the movement of black carbon. Finland presented the country’s sustainable economic activities including the circular economy road map and the national bioeconomy strategy.
