Amidst the sauna boom in Japan, Visit Finland started their sauna campaign to invite Japanese tourists to come and experience “real” saunas and lifestyle in Finland. To make the pilgrimage more enjoyable, campaign stamp booklets are made for visitors to collect stamps at given venues.

Visit Finland’s sauna campaign is part of the commemorative project to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relationship between Finland and Japan next year. 100 saunas are nominated across the country, from traditional smoke sauna to design-oriented modern sauna, sauna gondora in ferris wheel and seasonal boat sauna. Certificates will be issued by Visit Finland if one gets 5 stamps; special sauna goods will be given for 10 stamps. The stamp booklets, decorated with Finnish textile brand kauniste’s design, are distributed through the official sauna campaign website along with designated travel agencies and Finland Sauna Ambassadors. To make the campaign livelier, one can apply to win a roundtrip ticket to Finland by answering sauna related questions on the official website. The stamp card is valid until the end of the campaign on 31 October 2020.

* please make note that the distribution of the booklets is a limited time offer

Visit Finland will also commence recruitment of 100 Sauna Ambassadors to promote Finnish sauna culture in the coming days.
